Jargon Buster

We’ve started this Jargon Buster / Acronym Buster to help anyone understand some of the terms we use and what they mean.

We want everything to be in clear and simple English and without any jargon, but sometimes we quote legal wording in letters or shorten words into ‘acronyms’ which is usually the first letter of each word.

Common examples of this are:

GMT - Greenwich Mean Time (how our clocks are set)

BBC - British Broadcasting Corporation

Have a read below. Alphabetical sections are also tagged under categories on the right if you looking for something specific.

Are we missing something? Let us know in the survey below and we will add them.

Lets make things easy!
