On Thursday 18th September 2025, a Ward Walk was conducted with partners and stakeholders. During our Ward Walk we noticed that there was a lot of fly tipping present within residential areas.

This caused me some concern due to several reasons, namely:

· Health hazards that this can impose

· Dangerous situation caused for our children (due to some sharp implements like glass etc) lying about

· It does not make the area look nice.

There are several options available for agencies when dealing with fly tipping (like prosecution) and although this is an option, I would like us collectively to look at the prevention side.

There is a saying that prevention is better than cure and I am after your help.

Our partners/stakeholders and I are looking into the following and hoping that you would love to be a part of it, namely.

· Obtaining of skips which would assist with placing all items within and away from our green spaces.

· Creating of litter pick teams and volunteers are required.

Once I have received the results from our partners and stakeholders in relation to our Ward Walk – I will share them with you.

If you see anyone who is fly tipping – you can report it on the following methods, namely:

How to Report Fly-Tipping in Immingham

· Determine the location of the waste:

· Public or Council Land: If the waste is on public or council property, report it to NELC.

· Private Land: If the waste is on private land, you should inform the landowner and then report it to NELC.

· Gather information:

Provide as many details as possible to the council, including:

· Location: The exact location of the fly-tip, which can be plotted on a map.

· Date and Time: When you saw the waste.

· Type of Waste: A description of what has been dumped.

· Persons Involved: Details of any individuals seen dumping the waste.

· Vehicle Details: If applicable, include the vehicle's registration number.

· Report the incident:

· Online Form: The most effective way to report fly-tipping is by using the online reporting form on the NELC website.

· Do not confront:

Never approach or confront individuals involved in fly-tipping, as this could put you at risk.

· Consider contacting Crimestoppers for serious cases:

· If you have information about large-scale illegal dumping or hazardous waste, you can report it anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their online form.

North East Lincolnshire Council (NELC), Humberside Police and other partners, including Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP) are continuing on a joint initiative to address and tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) across Immingham.

Operation Agility is focused on helping solve the problems that matter most to residents of Immingham from nuisance bike riders to fly-tipping.

Last week we met with partners from across Immingham to discuss and plan next steps

So far, there have been multi-agency days of action, drugs dog searches and Op Yellowfin (a Humberside Police initiative aimed at tackling motorbike ASB) activity dedicated to making Immingham a safer community with partners including ourselves, NELC, Immingham town council, Equans, Environmental team, WISE, and, local ward councillors.

Two walkabouts took place around Immingham last week with our partners from Amplius, One Voice, NELC, Humberside Police, and, Immingham Town Council.

Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP) conducts monthly walkabouts of all our communities to enable customers and partner agencies to join together to discuss how we can improve our neighbourhoods including issues such as grass cutting, planned maintenance works, parking issues, play areas, security lighting, empty properties, plans for unused garage sites, fencing, and, Anti-Social Behaviour in the area etc.

Our walkabouts last week centred on Rose Gardens and an area of the Reedmere Estate.

Issues identified across these areas included:

• 2 abandoned vehicles,
• 6 instances of fly-tipping,
• 2 instances of waste spilling from gardens,
• 7 properties with concerns over garden condition,
• 1 overflowing street bin, and,
• Areas of concern with our ground maintenance.

On Thursday 14 August, we hosted our ‘Day of Action’ in Immingham in what turned out to be a brilliant day for our customers and local community.

The day was split into two halves: a clean-up event which was hosted in the morning, followed by a party in the park in the afternoon!

The community clean-up was focused around the Ings Lane area of Immingham and was ran in conjunction with Immingham Town Council.

We also had help from Frank Sparks, AKA The North Wall Cleaner and a team of volunteers from Phillips 66; the energy manufacturing and logistics company.

Volunteers and colleagues took part in litter picking and a general tidy up of the area; resulting in the pathways not only looking cleaner, but also making them more accessible.

A significant amount of fly tipping was tackled, with mattresses, old prams, discarded electronics and more, being removed from Ings Lane.

By the end of the clean-up, the area looked significantly cleaner, creating a much nicer environment for the people living nearby.

After the collective clean-up efforts, we headed over to Spring Street Park - where our newly built playground is located – for an afternoon of community celebration!

Refreshments and snacks were provided by the local Tesco, thanks to one of our customers! Children played on the bouncy castle, and families enjoyed playing games together in the sunshine!

We also had visits from Humberside Police, as well as local partners – including Love Immingham – who were asking customers at the event what things they’d like to see in Immingham in the future and One Voice, the community project.

“Ings Lane looks so much better thanks to the clean-up efforts and the party in the park has been a nice way to round off the day and give something back to our Immingham customers.”

All in all, it was a fantastic day for the community and great to be able to see colleagues and customers coming together in a positive way.

Tomorrow, we're hosting a community action day in Immingham!

The event will be split into two parts; a clean-up event in the morning, followed by a party in the park in the afternoon and everyone's welcome to get involved!

The first half of the event will run from 10:00am to 12:00pm, taking place on Ings Lane where we'll be teaming up with Immingham Town Council and some of our partner agencies for a clean-up of the area.

We'll have litter picking equipment available, allowing volunteers to tackle rubbish and fly-tipping that's accumulated, allowing Immingham to really shine this summer!

After the clean-up on Ings Lane, we’ll be hosting a celebratory party in the park with lots of family fun activities! The party will take place by our new playground, which is located just off Spring Street and Ings Lane.

Our colleagues over at North East Lincolnshire Council are hosting a free event for Immingham residents. This is the perfect opportunity to get everything you need for children and young people before the new academic year.

North East Lincolnshire Council, Humberside Police with LHP and other partners have launched a joint initiative to further address and tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) across Immingham.

Operation Agility is focused on helping solve the problems that matter most to residents of Immingham from nuisance bike riders to fly-tipping.

We will be conducting Humber Talking Surveys and signing people up to community alert. There will be RTF vehicle, dogs, youth bus with kids engagement and of course Police and LHP staff to offer advice.
