Become a Neighbourhood Champion – Your Voice. Your Community. Your Change.
Are you passionate about where you live? Do you want to help shape and improve your neighbourhood?
We’re looking for local residents to step into a brand-new role as Neighbourhood Champions in the communities of LHP. This is your chance to make a real difference – to be the voice of your neighbourhood and help create positive change.
As a Neighbourhood Champion, you’ll work with us to understand the issues that matter most to you and your neighbours. You’ll help guide local projects, share ideas, and shape this role into something that truly reflects what you believe your community needs.
This role is still developing, and we want it to grow based on your interests, insights, and passion. Whether you're full of ideas or just want to get more involved – we want to hear from you!
We’ll be hosting events in Grimsby and Boston where you can learn more about the Neighbourhood Champion role, share your views, and find out how to get involved.
📣 Your voice. Your community. Your change. Help us make it happen.
Interested? Get in touch with us today to find out more and be part of something that really matters.

Stop Food Waste Day – Free Cookbook Available!
Next Wednesday (30 April 2025) marks Stop Food Waste Day, a great reminder to think about how we can reduce waste in our kitchens and make the most of what we have.
To support this, there’s a free cookbook available that’s full of brilliant recipes designed to give a second life to commonly wasted ingredients like stale bread, bruised fruit and veg, and even discarded peels.
I thought I was doing well with food waste at home, but this book introduced me to some fantastic new ideas!

Nunsthorpe Big Spring Clean
What an amazing day we had yesterday at the Big Spring Clean! 🌼🧹
It was so lovely to see so many residents getting involved and working together to make their community look its best. That community spirit is exactly what we—and our partners—hoped to inspire through this event.A special highlight was seeing the children out litter picking with big smiles on their faces. The Easter egg reward at the end was just the icing on the cake! 🐣🍫
A huge thank you to everyone who took part—from the amazing residents to our fantastic partners and dedicated LHP staff. This was truly a team effort and an event the whole community can be proud of. 💚👏

Nunsthorpe Big Spring Clean
We’re thrilled to announce that, after listening to your feedback from the Nunsthorpe area, on Tuesday 8th April from 10am to 2pm, we will be hosting a skip clean-up event with the support of various LHP partners!
What’s Happening?
With the backing of Oasis Community Space, Eon, Thrift Energy Group, Nunny’s Farm, The Bathroom Village, NELC Fostering Friendly, local ward councillors, Ongo and Holistic Fire Solutions, 11 skip sites will be provided in key locations affected by fly-tipping. You’re welcome to use the opportunity as a chance to dispose of any unwanted items, right on the doorstep of your homes! LHP colleagues will also be attending the event to give a helping hand, should anyone need it.
As well as the spring clean, we will also be running a number of activities for the community to get involved with, including:
- Children’s Colouring Competition – Children and young people can design posters in two categories: “Keep Our Community Clean” and “No Fly-Tipping.” The top four winners from each category will have their designs made into plaques and displayed in the neighbourhood!
- Bike Recycling with Re-volution – If you bring any bikes or bike parts to the skip sites, these will be upcycled into working bikes, so the community can use them for both work and school transport.
- Litter Pick & Easter Egg Reward – We’re encouraging you to collect a bag of litter and bring it to a skip site. In return, you’ll receive a token, which can be exchanged for an Easter egg at Oasis Community Space! St Marks and St Martins Church Eco Group will also be out on the day helping with the litter pick.
- Help for those in need – If you’re unable to access the skips due to disability, Frank Sparkes, the North Wall Cleaner, will be taking referrals ahead of the event. If you would like to take advantage of this, please speak to any LHP colleague and they will be able to arrange.
We hope to see as many of you as possible at the event, in what promises to be an exciting spring clean-up!
