Immingham

Your Neighbourhood is a located within the industrial town of Immingham, six miles north-west of Grimsby (and also includes the villages of Habrough, Stallingborough and Healing), that is renowned for its Port, which is the largest in the United Kingdom with tonnes of cargo passing through each year.

Immingham is part of the Brigg & Immingham constituency, represented by Conservative MP, Martin Vickers. There is also a Town Council with three electoral wards and a total of 15 councillors.

The population of the town of Immingham was 9,642 in the 2011 Census. This is centred on a compact urban area of approximately one square mile. Lincolnshire Housing Partnership are responsible for 686 homes in Immingham, focused in two main neighbourhoods – Reedmere and Washdyke.

Your local facilities include a Leisure Centre, Civic Centre, Homestead Park, a recycling centre, several schools and a main centralised shopping area with several supermarkets and other well-known retailers.

Immingham also benefits from a frequent bus service, and quick and easy road connection to the nearby A180 which links to the local town of Grimsby.

Healing, three miles from Grimsby offers plenty of historical charm. Amenities include a renowned local school, village hall, hotel and function suites, and local shops.

Habrough is more rural. Residents enjoy a close-knit community and easy access to the nearby services in Immingham, which is just to the east of the village. There is a regular railway service from the village to Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Barton upon Humber, Scunthorpe, Doncaster and Sheffield.

May Walkabout

Our monthly walkabout during May took place on the Reedmere Estate and we were joined by our new CEO Simon Parkes and also Jon from Andy's Man Club.
Incidents of fly-tipping, the condition of car parking and grassed areas were all noted together with abandoned vehicles and other issues that we know are detrimental to the area.
Our next walkabout is scheduled for June 18th, focussing on the streets around Worsley Road - everyone is welcome to join us.

A successful day of community action for Immingham!

On Friday 24 April, we hosted a hugely successful community clean‑up event in Immingham, bringing together customers, colleagues, partners and other local residents for a day of positive community action.
Based around Hadleigh Road, the event combined litter picking with a skip clean-up, significantly improving the local environment by removing a total of 6,680kg of waste!
Joined by our partners at Phillips 66, Fortem, Andy’s Man Club and North East Lincolnshire Council, teams worked together to improve spaces across the town through litter picking and by helping customers remove excess waste from their homes.
In total, nine skips were filled – including two generously donated by Fortem – giving customers and members of the local community a safe and accessible way to dispose of bulky household waste that is often difficult or costly to remove.
Elissia Bingham, an LHP customer said: “We really valued the opportunity to clear a significant amount of waste from our garden. Many people can’t afford to pay for skips, so events like this go a long way in helping to tackle fly‑tipping. It’s nice to feel like some pride has been restored in the area.”
As with previous skip days, items in good condition were set aside for be reused in the local area where appropriate, helping to reduce waste and promote sustainability.
Bikes were collected by our Task team and taken to Re‑volution Bike Hub in Nunsthorpe, where unwanted bikes are refurbished for community use.
Prams were donated to the Together Baby Bank in Immingham, clothes and household items in good condition were taken to charity shops, and scrap metal was set aside for sorting and processing.
We also saw items being swapped on the day, with people arriving to use the skips and leaving with reusable items such as garden furniture instead of sending them to landfill.
Nina Stobart, External Communications & Public Affairs Lead at Phillips 66, said: “As a major business in the area, it’s important that we belong and that we’re part of the community where we live and work. It's great to be able to support a day like this, helping the community of Immingham and working together with LHP. It's all part of our ‘Good Energy’ ethos at Phillips 66.”
It was brilliant to see teams from across LHP volunteering their time alongside our partners, highlighting the importance of partnership working.
The difference made to the area was clear to see, and the event received exceptional feedback. A huge thank you to everyone who gave their time and effort to help make the day such a success!

February Walkabout

Recently we completed our February walkabout around the Worsley Road and Battery Street area of Immingham. We were joined by colleagues from North East Lincolnshire's Environment Enforcement Team and as always were checking for issues such as abandoned vehicles and fly-tipping.
Our next walkabout is on March 19th focusing on the Reedmere Estate - we will be starting from 10am outside the ship on Hadleigh Rd.
