Help Prevent Wildfires this summer

A national ban on the sale of disposable barbecues is now in place, helping to reduce the risk of fires during the current dry conditions. Even with this ban, other ignition sources can still cause devastating wildfires. Please take extra care when outdoors:

• Dispose of cigarettes safely and never throw them from vehicle windows
• Avoid lighting campfires in the countryside
• Follow guidance on the safe use of fireworks and other open flames
• Take all litter home, especially glass bottles which can magnify sunlight
• Call 999 immediately if you spot a fire

By taking a few simple precautions, we can all help protect our countryside, wildlife and local communities.
